1.1T GRR smugpdate and changes

Another month, another report. As usual, I received the monthly data of Lemmings and Marmites and processed it to remove both whoring (if you did 0.1% damage on a 100B titan, you get 100M kills booked and not 100B) and to check which CFC element was hit. The sum of the kills matched the alliance statistics pages.

The Marmite Collective total activity doubled since their all time low of April: 862B kills, 47.8B losses, 95% ISK ratio. They did 185.7B CFC damage (double of April), received 4.5B (1.3B CO2, 0.9B GSF, 0.7B PBLRD). Feast your eyes on the fat ones, the dumb CFC members who thought they can come to highsec in expensive ships: 1467M, 837M, 6986M, 6118M, 8163M, 1140M, 9155M, 1507M, 533M, 739M, 1470M, 6354M, 1516M, 581M, 536M, 8029M, 1306M, 8951M, 8099M, 620M, 1243M, 2282M, 513M, 6294M, 580M, 7908M, 2866M, 3272M, 1687M, 7875M, 707M, 6688M, 821M, 1192M, 1798M, 8671M, 737M, 694M, 647M, 964M, 6473M, 753M, 578M, 1573M. Have you seen the weird fit Venture with the PLEX in the hold? Then keep clicking!

The Darwins Lemmings total activity slightly decreased once again: 187B kills, 37.7B losses, 83% ISK ratio. They did 95.9B CFC damage (slight increase from April), received 14.4B (4.6B RvB-Red, 4.5B GSF, 1.9B RAZOR, 1.8B RvB-Blue). Behold the dumb and fat: 844M, 503M, 2134M, 948M, 512M, 1017M, 530M, 1858M, 714M, 1594M, 744M, 509M, 748M, 713M, 6669M, 628M, 723M, 1226M, 5243M, 867M, 2005M, 1285M, 1187M, 576M, 2111M, 624M, 1166M, 672M, 645M, 1240M, 724M, 760M, 2865M, 2939M, 990M, 4324M.

Here is the May detailed report for the GRR project (earlier data is on the project page):
"1118" is sitting humbly on the bottom right. Yes, that's 1.1 trillion ISK damage to Goons and their minions and renters. That's more than Asakai. This is why the Goon posters cry "irrelevant" and "Marmite is just scamming you" on the forums. This is why the first mention of the project on the Goon propaganda site is doomsaying, without any basis, of course. Also, why announce the end of something you never talked before? The GRR project went from a "funny distraction" to a major source of damage for the evil of New Eden.

But there is also room for improvement. Darwins Lemmings were formed with the idea of becoming the next Brave Newbies with thousands of casual members killing CFC. That didn't happen. Also I've found that the original Brave Newbies (along with RvB and GSF) are neither "casual members killing stuff". A few elite is making most of the kills, while the large crowd behind them has trivial killboard activity. While the Lemming data isn't comparable due to shorter timespan and no time to mature, the qualitative results were the same: a few killed the most. The idea of "Rifter swarm" probably only exists in old Goon legends. So here we stood with a Marmite clone with half as much CFC damage as Marmite itself:

While "half Marmite" isn't bad, the wardecs cost just as much as they cost for Marmite and to make it worse, a full set of CFC wars are over 6B/week. I can't afford two full sets, so I could only pay Lemming wars if I didn't pay some Marmite wars. Marmite wars simply have higher returns. Also, most of the Lemmings liked roaming null more than killing CFC in highsec. Roaming to null from a highsec base is just dumb. So the decision was made to end the double-wars. The majority who preferred null fleets will get it full time as Lemmings will move to nullsec. I'll be honest here: I preferred NPC null with Mordus Angels, since I've found that they kill lot of CFC. But the Lemming directorate choose the N3 member TMA. Well, naysayers always said Lemmings must move to null to be relevant, so have at thee!

I will not follow Lemmings to sov-null. I will pay the Marmite wardecs for all CFC and send the remaining of my weekly income (about 3B) to Mordus Angels without requesting anything from them but to stay the way they are and keep killing CFC. I hope my support will save them ratting time that they can spend on hunting the evil that dwells there. I will list their kills as motivation to people to rise against evil, but clearly can't claim that they are mine as I can't even determine how big part was enabled by me. But we know for sure that SRP increases fleet activity, so some will surely die because of my funding. And because of yours, if you follow me in supporting those who bring the fight to the home base of the evil ones!

What about the Lemmings who aren't happy with moving Sov-null? They aren't glued to the Lemming ticker. They can apply Marmite if they have the killboard stats to support such application. Marmite will have full set of highsec wardecs on CFC and many more targets that Lemmings lacked. Marmite corps would be crazy to turn down properly skilled applicants and let them join competing highsec deccers, like Pursuit of Happiness who caused 7.1B damage to Marmite in May. Fleet fighters can grab their resume and apply to corps in NPC null (or as corps to alliances), for example to Mordus. In EVE everyone is making his own history, you can't wait for others to provide for you.

The first 1T was reached in 5 months. We'll see how fast the second trillion ISK of evil turn to wrecks! Grr Goons!

No, on so many levels, no.

You are damaging individuals. Individual wallets. Individual stupidity. You should be applauded for this. Goons probably think you are actually doing them a favour by highlighting why you shouldn't be dumb. Continued dumb dumbs well, they deserve what they get.

But, you are not causing damage to the biggest evil in new eden (because to claim the CFC is this is preposterous in the extreme), and you are not doing damage to the CFC/Goons as an organisation at all. Not even a little bit. You are a hilarious little distraction. It's all you'll ever be.

1.1T isk? over how many months? Seriously?

Darwins Lemmings were formed with the idea of becoming the next Brave Newbies with thousands of casual members killing CFC

you never stated this before. Interesting. If you wanted to do this creating an "eve born" corp wasn't the way to do it.

Oh, the old Goon myth: "the losses of our members doesn't matter". I wonder how long Goons will have members if "being in CFC" means "flying bombless bombers, being hunted by everyone and being laughed at by your own leaders"

At 3B a week you could fund a Sniggwaffe Super/Dread fleet, which feeds in to the one group in Eve that stands a chance of actually pushing Goons out of the north.

It will be interesting to see an analysis of the Fountain Core kill boards. They have been fighting the CFC for quite some time. Being a major pain in the ass during the Halloween War. Forcing the CFC to deploy additional forces as FA and Li3 were unable to protect their own assets in the region. They were also a major driving factor in Li3's failcascade.

I suggest you look again at spending your ISK on bounties on CFC alliances. That money goes directly to people who kill 5x as much ISK. Very decent ISK efficiency, and no risk whatsoever of a disgruntled director making off with it one day, or it sitting unused on some alliance wallet for days or weeks (think of the interest lost alone - bounties will be paid out at once).
If you put bounty on CFC, the Mordi will receive it as well, if they only continue to do what we all applaud them for. And you pay not those who LOL-lose ships against them, but in fact those that do damage - incentive to survive while causing as much ISK damage as possible.
How much ISK does CFC lose in a month? Would your bounty pool be depleted by that, if you spent 3bil/week on that, and how fast?

@Anonymous: there is a reason why NO ONE but upset carebears use the bounty feature.

Goons can take it and laugh by shooting the unfit, max-insured T1 ships of their alts.

Thanks to the stupid welfare CCP gives to bad PvP-ers, losing T1 hulls is free. Losing cargo, modules or T2/T3/faction hulls hurt only.

I only have one question.

In order for GRRRRR to be a major source of damage, can you show the data for kills since Goons were formed, where we can see that the damage done by GRRR is outside the range of losses they normally incur during any time period?

I've never said GRR is outperforming nullsec enemies of Goons. It's an extra on top of that.

¿Do you think said individuals are OK with being in a corp/alliance which is being actively hunted in highsec?, many of them aren´t and they will leave the CFC for this, a corp or alliance is as powerful as their memebers are, break the members will to fight and don´t worry about how much isk they have in their wallets, they won´t use it.

Many corps and player are with the goons because "they are the most powerful".... how does showing weakness do to your ability to recruit new renters, Goons?

So how exactly lemmings will be damaging the evil goons all the way from Oasa renter space?

Why didn't they choose living in Pure Blind with MoA, it's pretty much the doorstep of the goons. Seems like a bit of a carebeary choice.

That 1.18 trillion, divided amongst the CFC and renters comes out to be less than 30m per person - definitely a major accomplishment. Everyone in the CFC lost an assault frigate, for all the time, isk and effort you have put into this.

Oh, and TMA is NOT an N3 member, they are an N3 renter

That's what they were asking. Is it extra, or was the damage being done by Marmite or others before?

Damn, As a Mordus grunt, cheers mate. I hate missioning and since we use pretty cheap ships 3b will do allot to make sure we are always fighting and engaged with the enemy.

It's a nice hypothesis, to suggest that killing goons in highsec will make them somehow want to leave goons but their membership statistics simply do not bear this out.

Add to this that the amount of money being talked about here is trivial - yes, it's more than Asakai, but Asakai took place over a few hours, this is over 5 months. The loss at an isk/hour level, spread out over impacted individuals, is really not having an impact.

if it was having an impact one would expect to see a major reduction in membership as a direct result ... and you are simply not seeing that happen

Gevlon said...

Asakai isn't a regular event. Supercap welps are very rare. I didn't make statistics, but I dare to say that on an average month CFC loses less ISK in supers than they do to the GRR project.

While the Lemmings were fun, they didn't have the players to be a 7/23 group like Marmite. US evenings only had a handful of Lemming players. Doc and General Lemming did a good job of organizing EU TZ activities, but once they went offline, things were pretty quiet.

It'll be nice to join up with a Null Sec group and do some things from there.

As a goon, yes, totaly okay with that. The majority of the CFC do not have any reason to go to highsec more than maybe a couple of times a year, when a decently fit interceptor does the job with a minimum of risk. We genuinely live in nullsec and largely ignore anything in empire space.

On a personal level, I do find this an ammusing distraction. The whole project has failed to impact me in any way whatsoever; no ships destroyed, no ops cancelled, no freighters failed to arrive, just business as usual. I enjoy coming to the blog to see what weird and wonderful ideas will come up next, and wondering what the next justification will be for a change in plans.

As an aside, I love how me rating in Deklein and forming up for fleets to fight guys in nullsec makes me the biggest evil in New Eden; I guess the rest of Eve must be full of knight-in-shining-armour space samaritans?

The vast majority of the CFC are completely unaffected by marmites and lemmings. We were always at war, and always avoided high sec on our CFC characters. The only people it affects are idiots and newbies. I have never even seen a lemming or marmite character, much less lost a ship tot hem

but as a % of total loss I would imagine the GRR project is not anywhere near the majority of CFC losses.

I predict that after spending a month in TMA, the Lemmings will be so sick of their shitty fleets that they'd rather chew off their own hands than go out and pvp.

I've been in three null sec alliances and TMA are by far the worst in terms of petty drama, backstabbing, and sheer incompetence.

Good luck Doc Know and General Lemming. It was nice knowing you.
